No matter how much our telecommunication system has advanced, people still can’t get over using fax. I used to run a franchise bakery business, and needed to fax order forms and other business document to the factory everyday. I find this rather troublesome, and as a self-proclaimed geek, I resorted to re-creating the business forms in Microsoft Excel and faxing them using my computer modem.
Anyway, back to this topic here. What if you don’t have any fax/modem with you and needs to send a fax to one of those company ? Luckily there are many free tools online which allow you to do just that! The one that I’ve tried successfully is MyFax. It lets you send your document (Microsoft Word, PDF, Excel, etc) to a fax number in many places around the world. And yes, it works in my country (Malaysia) too!
As you can see, it is quite easy to use. Just type in the recipient’s name and fax number, your name and email address, then browse for the file you wish to fax and enter an optional text message. Once you click the ‘Send Fax’ button, you will receive an email, of which you will just need to click the provided link to confirm, like the following example:
The fax will then be sent to the recipient in a very short while! Yippie!
Now that you can send a fax, you may be asking, ‘How about receiving fax without fax/modem’. Yes! Some of these websites provide this service as well, where you will have a special fax number, and any fax you received will be emailed to you instead. However, for fax receiving, these websites will ask to sign up for a 30-days free trial with your credit card details. They all claimed that you can cancel it anytime you want. So if you’re so desperate to receive fax without fax/modem, head over here to check out the list of service provider: http://www.sendafreefax.com/. The services varies in pricing and in the location of their fax number (some providing local numbers, but some providing numbers from selected countries like U.S., Canada, Hong Kong, etc)
